FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

LinkShip supports multiple file types on the free tier: PDFs, Videos (MP4, WebM, MOV), Images (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF), Markdown documents, and Audio (MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC) — single files up to 25MB. You can also host a static website: upload an HTML file or a .zip of a built site (HTML, CSS, JS) and get a live link of its own.
Select multiple audio files on the homepage or MP3 to Link tool to create one collection with one share URL and one active-link slot. Collections accept MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, M4A. Edit songs and their order before publishing or later in project settings. Listeners can choose a song or play in sequence. Upload limits are shown in the editor.
Yes. Free includes one active link and a 25 MB single-file upload limit. MP3 collections use one link for the whole playlist and have separate limits shown in the MP3 tool. Paid plans increase active-link and file-size allowances.
Links are permanent by default unless you delete them or set a custom expiration date. Free accounts are limited by active link count, while paid plans unlock higher limits and advanced controls.
Yes! You can create your own custom link slug (e.g., my-document.linkship.org). Custom links must be at least 3 characters, use only letters, numbers, and hyphens. If your preferred slug is taken, we'll suggest available alternatives.
Link analytics can show visits, downloads, locations, devices, and referral sources. These are access statistics; they do not identify every visitor or measure completed song listens.
Password protection is available on paid plans for supported shared content. Set it in the link’s management page. Anyone who has both the link and its password can open it.
Yes. All file transfers use SSL encryption. Your files are stored on enterprise-grade servers with industry-standard security. You maintain full ownership and can delete your files anytime. We never share or sell your data.
Drive and Dropbox are storage products — recipients open the raw file. LinkShip wraps every share in its own viewer page with view tracking, password gates, expiry rules, and a built-in QR code. Unlike WeTransfer (which deletes after 7 days), a paid LinkShip plan keeps your links live until you choose to delete them.
Yes — LinkShip offers static website hosting. Upload a single HTML file or a .zip of a built static site (HTML, CSS, JS, fonts) and we serve it on its own shareable link, like drag-and-drop static hosting with no server setup. Password protection and expiry controls work the same as any other LinkShip link.
